The New Lamborghini Urus SE

07/10/2024

Welcome to the new Lamborghini Urus SE

Lamborghini has refreshed its popular Urus superSUV with the 2024 Urus SE ‘facelift,’ now featuring hybrid technology while keeping the V8 engine that made the original a hit. This update not only adds as lightly ‘eco-friendlier’ appeal but maintains the exhilarating performance Lamborghini is known for.

What's new under the bonnet?

The new plug-in hybrid system combines a twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric motor, producing a massive 789 hp and propelling the Urus SE from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds. The addition of the hybrid powertrain allows up to 40 miles of pure-electric driving, making short trips efficient, while still delivering the traditional Lamborghini roar when the V8 comes into play.

Alongside power, the Urus SE gets improvements in handling with torque vectoring and an upgraded electronic limited-slip differential, offering more control in tight corners and dynamic driving conditions.

Refreshed design and technology

Visually, the new Urus SE retains the signature bold and muscular design, but with a few tweaks. New 23-inch wheels add a more aggressive stance, while a broad range of paint and trim options are now available via Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customisation program, allowing buyers to make their Urus unique.

Inside, the SE features a larger 12.3-inchtouch screen that improves connectivity and infotainment, while the cabin retains its luxurious feel. Although the hybrid system adds some weight and reduces cargo space, the Urus remains practical for everyday use without losing its supercar appeal.

Beyond the wheels and colour options, the Urus SE facelift comes with more subtle visual upgrades, like sharper headlights and a reworked front bumper that adds a sleeker, more modern appearance. The rear diffuser has been slightly reshaped, giving the SUV a more dynamic and powerful rear profile. These changes are minor but help modernise the look, keeping it fresh in the competitive luxury SUV market.

So what do the experts think about the car?

UK automotive outlets have given their verdicts, and it’s clear the Urus SE is well-received across the board:

Overall, the Urus SE has been praised for successfully updating an already iconic model, blending hybrid efficiency with the thrilling Lamborghini performance that drivers love. With all these enhancements, we’re sure to see many of these roaring down UK roads soon!
